Watch Tower - First Invasion [Completed]

To the Watch Tower!

Each time you post here, once per day, you contribute to the prediction value at a certain rate. Your character will take post for approximately an hour and keep watch to help estimate the size of the upcoming Upset invasion. 

The more accurate your prediction, the easier it will be to determine the possibility of enemies breaking through into the town and damaging resources (or its denizens). Therefore, you will be able to figure out how much of a deficit you have in defense and how much offense you'll need to minimize the damage.

If the town succeeds and suffers no damage, all town members gain 2 CP.
If the town takes damage, but no denizens are injured, then all town members gain 1 CP.
If the town fails to defend against the attack, then no CP will be gained (and the consequences are worse). 

The percentage of prediction accuracy is increased by the use of certain instruments and tools, such as a telescope. 


There are a couple stats to consider when making the town fortification:

• Defense: The amount of defensive capability the town has against the attack. The higher it is, the longer the town can stall out against the attack. Also, this determines the risk of damage that denizens will take. 
  
• Offense: The amount of offense the town has against the attack. The higher it is, the shorter the attack will last (helping minimize the damage).
  
• Energy: The amount of energy powering structures, usually offensive ones. If there is no energy, the structures will not provide offensive power.
  
• Injury/Resource risk: The amount of damage that will result from the current defensive and offensive statistics, if the attack succeeds. This amount decreases based on a difference of the invasion count and a couple factors including offense and defensive values (and random variables). A loss is considered anything above 30% damage. 
  

Valinea comes into the watch tower for the night shift, watching the landscape sharply to predict on the enemy force, speed and distance away.

*As she looks out the top of the watch tower, she sighs at how empty the world looks*

"Well at least it's peaceful~"

Komali climbed the tower. She wasn't feeling good after her fight with Illium and everyone seemed to come up here when they weren't feeling well or just needed to alone so she figured it was her turn. 
While she leaned over the side she looked out over the horizon. 
Her sharp eyes could pick out movement in the fog. It was admittedly intimidating but the monsters seemed to be keeping back for now and it didn't look like there were that many of them. Of course what would she know as a cat? She wasn't even sure she was counting right even so, in the best way she could, Komali counted the monsters she could see.

Illium steps into the observation area of the tower, looking out all around into the fog and seeing the distant shadows and outlines of the Upset. He shivered from the wind and continued to stare, contemplating all the day had brought, and all the day had screwed with.

She takes time to watch again, able to keep count of a few more Upsets than she saw last time......

Hmm....where do these things even come from...?

Valinea yawns a bit, coming up to the watchtower to take a look at the incoming enemy attack

During a quiet afternoon, Ymir decided to climb up to the watchtower and take a shift. He watched into the distance. He had nothing better to do anyway.

Just what..


Sayo gulps, not sure she can even contribute much from all the time she's spent sleeping. This time she sorta kinda tries to help with watch duty?

Maybe if I just die quickly enough they can stop worrying about me and not die themselves. o w o;




Welp. The view from here sure looks nice though. If you can ignore all the beasts in the distance.

Routier decides to take a break from training and check up on the incoming upsets.

I hope Valinea and Lionel's training will be enough to protect this place...


She climbs back down an hour later after keeping watch to resume training.

Komali's tail twitches and then she bounds through the gate after Lionel.

Illium climbs up into the watch tower and looks out into the fog, again counting the number of Upset he can see as their shadows skitter around.

She takes time to scout out the area again, thinking about how much stuff has been going on lately and what could be done against the impending attack...

Sir Lionel sits upon the tower for the first time and marvels at how bland the landscape is until he notices movement in the distance. Evidently that cat was right! There was definitely an attack coming!

Illium settles himself down in the watch tower, attempting to get an even more accurate estimate if when the attack will be.

She looks out the newly built telescope between training, grabbing an amazing view of the oncoming attack.

Valinea comes up to the tower, to take another look at the enemy force.

She takes her new metal shield up to the watch tower to shine it, looking out the telescope for the oncoming attack.

Lionel steps up to the edge and looks out over the field, taking his turn at watch. The churning of the monsters was upsetting but he didn't show it. The mask of a stoic warrior was on and his feelings set aside.

Walk up to the watch tower like what up "I gotta--- 


That is a lot of upsets. Gathering. Training. I need to train a little more before they arrive! 

I can't just.. die again.. er yeah...

Shit-- They're starting to approach! I need to figure out how many of them there are so we can get final defenses up--! 

I vigorously survey the area with the telescope, then mentally note and calculate the count in my head...

RAID RESULTS

The actual Result of the raid was 22 Upsets

As a result, the amount of denizens in the town compared to defense was sufficient enough to slow the upsets enough to prevent casualties (0% Injury Risk)

The Town Offense was 3, allowing the upsets to be fought off in 22 Minutes.

With enough defense and offense combined, the raid was able to be stopped before any buildings could take damage (0% Material risk)

The total non-fortification damage estimates to 0 IMG.
