3-8 Botanical Eden

To anyone not from my home they would simply think this was a magical and rather fantastical (if not perfect) garden of sorts with its vibrant greens, strong trees, and natural vivid creeks... to me it's sort of like home and oddly enough, it's not all that far from it. 23 years ago my father, Astor Algraz, opened up the AAMI and in that moment he christened it with the opening of Laboratory #1: Earth Alchemics and Nature Harvesting Centre. To the many civilians we'd later let walk through it on the set pathways (for their protection of course), they simply referred to it with generic things like, "astounding", "amazing", or even speechlessness. My mother however would call it "Botanical Eden", a true paradise only for the plants and as she wanted it to be such she later got to plant the "Yggdrasil" tree that sits at the very center of the garden. The surrounding (somewhat magical) foresty marshes and what not are kept safe under the expansive climate controlled dome and from this particular section of Laboratory 1 (yes, this garden is massive!) if you look up to the west you can easily see the main sky scraper like building that the garden connects too... In fact, I bet i could see my old office from down here...

Sirocco jumps in and sees the lone figure wearing the coat... Is that... Travis?!?

"... This is odd, why do I feel an ominous oppression...?"

Sirocco walks slowly to the cloaked figure... He holds his axe tight in his left hand and is prepared to counter any magic or strike that comes in his direction...

Averia steps through the portal, looking over at the figure sitting at the fountain, walking past Sirocco and reaching out to what seems to be Travis.
"Travis, why are you here..?"

Lionel steps through, paw gripping the handle of his sword as he carefully follows the others. He notes Travis but says nothing and makes no move to check on him, choosing instead to ensure the area is secure first.

Sirocco stands behind Averia with a slight look of nervousness on his face...

"Ahem... So you know Travis, do you know where he is?"

Sirocco rests his axe on the ground and sighs in relief that there isn't a monster... Yet deep down he still feels concerned for some reason...

Averia steps back a bit, looking a little disappointed but snapping back immediately as she drops her reach.
"Yeah, what that guy said. Do you know where he is?"

Lionel's paw tightened on his sword as his suspicions skyrocket.
"Speak quickly," he orders.

Lionel immediately pursued, his concern shoving aside his wariness as he races after her towards the noise.

Sirocco dashes with Lionel and raises his axe...

"Be cautious... Running in boldly may yield un-intended consequences..."

Sirocco keeps his [Reflect] and [Return] ready in case of an emergency...

Averia runs after them, concerned as to the sounds being made.

*As the dragoness halts before the clearing she notices that Travis could be seen clinging to an older wolf dressed in a similar outfit, a rune covered and wrist mounted launcher pointed at a rather muscular and outraged male snow leopard, a couple of tonics can be seen being loaded into it as the shouting match continues. Between them a sizable crater can be seen and some of the nearby flora smoldering*

I promise the next one won't miss! Now leave my son alone damn it!

But why Astor?~ The little wretch has already failed your world as it stands... The only thing he can be proud of is the philosopher's stone and i am willing to bet the little runt didn't do any of the heavy lifting when it came time to make the fabled rock. Isn't that right Travis!? Explain to your father how you've had flukes and moments of people just being nice to you... that you are no great alchemist like your people told you. Tell everyone that your glory is nothing but a lie brought to an early end because that was what you deserved!!! Tell everyone how you're worthless to them and why you deserve to fade into the fog and become part of the darkness that will consume everything!

S-Stop!!! I... You don't know what i've done to help the town! i'm trying to learn alchemy again for their sake! I-I can still cure people! *Travis is clearly shaken up as he keeps clinging, one hand clutched to something that can't be seen around his neck*

That's rich, you can barely craft basic potions and shielding tonics. you even make a habit of repeatedly checking every single leaf that you use for your tonics... dear boy its getting old but~, i know more than how you panic and pace each time you create. I know exactly why you do it... You don't believe you can do it anymore do you? I know its still fresh in your mind dear boy. Her death and those final words. The way she told you she forgave you when the life drained from her body when you THOUGHT that you cured my dear sister and took her unfairly from our lives!!! In that moment you realized just what kind of alchemist you are if any at all... You are one that can only breed destruction and thanks to your own demise you've even doomed your own world to fall. That's not bad though is it, that is what you've always wanted after all so please Travis, enjoy the gift to yourself now that you're actually alive to accept it. *the leopard starts to laugh like a maniac, holding his sides and almost doubling over from what appears to be joy*

"This is bad... I sense an ominous layer of upset... Averia, Lionel, prepare for the worst..."

Sirocco holds his axe and walks closer to the figures and prepares himself...

Lionel barely heard Sirocco as they raced to the figures and the words became audible. His teeth were bared angrily as he picked up on Travis's distress. 
This was different from the other struggle he had witnessed and he drew his sword, keen on attacking, and barely restraining himself.

Averia stares at the scene, immediately drawing her staff and tome, the staff already glowing faintly with magic.

*The woman escorting them now raising her staff, sirocco would recognize it as the way someone would use a rifle. quick inspection of the bottom of the staff reveals the staff it self to actually be a magical rifle. the sights aimed at the angry leopard as the end which holsters a crystal starts to glow brightly*

Share with them Travis... Today is show and tell and its your turn~. Your turn to show them the truth of what a horrible being you are and then tell them that you're going to join us in the fog and put those destructive tendencies to good use when you rip your old friends and so called family apart. I'm sure they agree with me too and are just here to send you off so they can later try and get rid of you themselves. Isn't that right everyone!? *he raises his voice at the last sentence, looking over to the group as if waiting for them to happily comply with what he's saying. he's even putting a paw to his ear and leaning towards them hoping to hear it*

Lionel snarled, "You speak poisonous falsehoods! We have come to retrieve him and bring him home!"

"D-Dammit... That's a gun...! Lionel! Protect Averia!"

Sirocco recklessly charges forward with his axe to help Travis...

-This... Is exactly what I told Lionel not to do... but... I must...-

Averia growls slightly, running after Sirocco.
"You're gonna get yourself killed you idiot!"

Lionel growled and rushed in behind Sirocco unwilling to argue this.

S-Shit! He's tempting him... I... I gotta reach his heart... I can't have this happen! Not again!

"T-Travis! You can't! Power won't mean anything if you lose your beliefs in the process! What about our promise! I don't want to lose another friend! I don't want you to make the same mistakes I made countless times!You're more than that!"

Sirocco's eyes fill with tears...

"It isn't right... You can't walk forward with your back turned away from the future! You won't be a god... You'll only end up with a void heart seeking more darkness... I made that same mistake! Selling out all I cared about... Abandoning my beliefs for power... You'll end up transforming into that black beast that lost everything!"

~I've come too far... I can't give up... No matter what... I can't lose!~

"Averia... Promise me... That Travis will get back safely..."

Sirocco walks into the mess of fly traps with [Return] set up...

"Come at me..."

"Oh no you don't dumbass."
Averia grabs Sirocco and pulls him back before letting off an explosion of fire into the area, hoping to burn down the Fly Traps surrounding them.

"This is madness... I'm running near the bottom of the barrel for options now..."

Sirocco drops his weapon and looks at Travis before talking once more...

"... You'd give up after all this? You taught me what a true friend is... I had my hands full when you came rolling in... Heh, I guess I really had no idea what I was doing... But then again... I can get up as many times as I need to when you're with me, no matter how painful it is I feel strong when people support me... Stand strong, you're not like him... right?"

Lionel reluctantly lowers his weapon and looks over at Travis with concern.
"Travis... You would be wise to consider what has happened here in this world. Despite your past and fears you have been nothing but a godsend to the people you have befriended and that in and of itself is power. What need do you have of some relic and some corrupt lies that poison the soul? No. You should not take this monster by its word.
I am wise enough to know that it is not my place to make this decision for you. It would mean nothing if we forced your hand but I would have you know that you need not die here but I bid you to rise up and seize the realization of your accomplishments in your pursuit of redemption."

Averia puts down her staff and tome before taking a step forward.
"Travis, please don't do this. Look at us here, look at those who you've helped in the town! Do you really need a stone that may as well kill you? Do you need that to make us happy? How do you plan on helping us if you are dead and gone?"

Sirocco looks in amazement... That potion Travis just used... The cure-all...?

"Hmph... Let's get you back to camp... Okay?"

He gives him a smile and a thumbs up before starting to walk towards the portal.

Travis barely picks himself up, stumbling slightly and he starts to follow Sirocco down the pathway to the portal while poking at himself, a bit in shock from what happened but too dazed to really care or question any of it right now.

"Food kinda sounds like something that would be nice right now. I'm a little sick of trail mix and stam fruit. Also i did just kinda have a literal hole in my stomach.  Um... I do have a request for anything without vegetables for now if that can be helped.

Komali hops through and sniffs around. 
"This place is very pretty!"

He walks in with his eyes closed and takes a deep breath, taking in the air here.

"Mm... very tranquil. The air here is quite relaxing."

She walks in, a bit surprised at the scenery.

"Dis place...it reminds me a lot of de old Master's green house in de back of de manor. Aldough, there might be a distinctly lesser amount of de potato plants..."

She skips in, enjoying all the greenery. "Reminds me of the gardens we used to have at home. Except these plants look way happier~"

Komali consulted her list before looking up at her gathering party and blinking in mild confusion. She hadn't seen Shira since Shira first arrived and Komali couldn't remember her name like at all and it was making her blank on the other's names too.
"Um... Stripes you get the Nebby stuff, Shorty you get the silk, and um... you, Clean person get silk too."

"E-eh.. shorty..." She pouts a little, searching for a silk worm. Once she finds one, she grabs it, stabs it with the knife, slices it in half and pulls it open. Inside the worm is a little ball of silk. She shoves her paw in and pulls it out, worm blood/juice/whatever it is all over her, holding up towards the others. "Silk."


She gathers 24 Silk!

He looks around for some of the strange stringy substances and he notices some hanging from the tree. He hops up and starts slicing it out of the air all swordsman-like.

"No, no. Minh. You can call me Minh. M-I-N-H."

He chuckled as he wrapped the fibers up.
